Elven Hyde began with a single question: why does almost nothing last anymore?
We set out to make leather goods the old way — from full-grain hides, cut by hand, saddle-stitched seam by seam. No corners cut, no bonded leather, no plastic pretending to be something it isn't. Just one hide, and the patience to do it right.
The single hide
Every piece we make starts from one full-grain panel, chosen for its grain and character. Full-grain is the toughest, most breathable cut of the hide — and the only one that develops a real patina, deepening in colour and softening in the hand over years of use.
Saddle-stitched by hand
We use the saddle stitch — two needles, one thread, locked at every pass. It's slower than a machine, but if a stitch ever breaks, the seam holds. It's the strongest stitch in leatherwork, and we use it on every seam, every time.
Built to be repaired, not replaced
Our pieces carry a two-year craftsmanship warranty, and we'll recondition and repair them long after. The goal was never to sell you another wallet next year. It was to make one you'll pass down.
